Sketch of the scenography

Description

Mykhailo Andriienko-Nechytailo is a famous avant-garde scenographer who spent most of his life in the artistic circles in Paris. He brought to European scenography a new way of thinking about space with elements of analytical cubism and constructivism. While searching for “his” place, he had success as a set designer in large theaters in Budapest, Prague, and Vienna, but eventually preferred the chamber avant-garde theater in Paris.

His sketches for scenographies depict the image of a person in an urbanized world. Andriienko-Nechytailo leaves out unnecessary details, uses simple forms, and combines them, planes to the general rhythm of the theatrical production and its idea. Each element of the set is logically constructed and adapted for use only on stage.
