The 2 International Legion of Defense of Ukraine of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine began its formation at the end of September 2022 at Colonel Ruslan Myroshnichenko's initiative and with General Valery Zaluzhny's active assistance. The skeleton of the Legion was formed from Ukrainian volunteers who became its officers and sergeants. Now, the 2 Legion has about 500 soldiers from more than 25 countries.
