Viktor Zaretsky was Alla Horska's husband and painted a portrait of his wife after her death. The story is based on a specific incident in one of Kyiv's parks when Viktor Zaretsky thought he saw Alla Horska walking. When the artist called out to her, he saw the face of a random passerby with the same blonde hair. In the work, Alla Horska is a glowing angel, rising into the air. She was the hope of the entire generation of the Sixtiers: creative, strong, nationally conscious, and had her own position in life. That is why she was a threat to the totalitarian regime.
