Art abstraction is freedom from imitation of reality. It opens up a lot of opportunities for experimentation in creativity: it is reflected in visual and other forms of art.
On May 24, a musician who paints abstract paintings and an artist who plays jazz will meet at the CIAM. The focus of their discussion is the relation between music and painting abstraction. You will learn: what influence both have on each other, how it is expressed, how abstraction is created in painting and music, and in what forms and types.
Discussion participants:
Yaroslav Kachmar is a painter, sculptor, and curator of international art projects. His creative evolution ranges from surreal compositions to spatial installations made of fabric. He creates abstract paintings of monumental size.
Roman Filipchuk is a musician, conductor, and teacher. He has been making music for over 50 years and creates paintings.
